City of Orlando Re-Opens Constitution Green Park

ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – Residents and their dogs gathered in Downtown Orlando to be part of the official re-opening of Constitution Green Park Thursday morning. The park closed at the end of May for some much needed renovations, but is now open and ready for the public and their dogs to enjoy.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orlando District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan, and the City of Orlando’s Parks & Recreation team hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially re-open the park.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer spoke to the crowd about the improvements that were made to make the park a better place for people and dogs to enjoy, including the new enlarged dog park area, which many of the guest were there to use right away. He also emphasized how the City fixed the drainage system in the park so that people and dogs can better enjoy the park without leaving with muddy feet or paws.

District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan also spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony. Constitution Green is located in her district, so she talked to her constituents about the getting to enjoy the park again. She also talked about keeping the park and surrounding areas clean by pet owners picking up after themselves and their dog.

Other features of the renovated park include better walkways and more seating.

Constitution Green is just one of the many ways that the City of Orlando is improving the city for its residents.
