Leyton Blackwell is a Sacramento, California-based journalist who focuses on covering topics like education and the economy and how they affect residents of Sacramento and residents of California.

 

Leyton Blackwell is also a multimedia journalist who uses multiple types of media to cover the topics he focuses on. Leyton is trained in using audio, video, writing, photography, and infographics to report on a story or topic and get the best information out to the people. 

 

To be able to cover topics that affect residents of Sacramento and the State of California, Leyton Blackwell had to get a lot of training and education. Leyton is currently a graduate student enrolled in Full Sail University’s Master of Arts in New Media Journalism degree program where he has learned more about journalism and using different forms of media for journalism. Leyton also currently holds a Bachelor of Science in Media Communications from Full Sail University where he learned how to use different forms of media like video, audio, graphic design, websites, and writing, to be able to get information to people and tell stories. 

 

In addition to education, Leyton gained training in journalism through internships he has done. As an intern at Florida National News, Leyton got real-world training in covering a variety of topics as a photojournalist and writer. These topics included sports, local government, parades, concerts, and conventions. 

 

Beyond his work as a journalist, Leyton Blackwell also works as a graphic designer. Since 2020, Leyton has worked as a civilian graphic designer for the 9th Force Support Squadron at Beale Air Force Base, California. And beyond his work, Leyton enjoys traveling, architecture photography, and reading.
